We thought that visiting the Provençale area in Southeastern France would be an idea whose time has come. The sun drenched region has a lot to offer, especially by bike.   We visited Provence in 2001, we will visit again in the future - stay tuned!

Influenced by the Mediterranean and scented with lavender and rosemary, the Provence region is calling out to HWBTer's.  We will be bringing our own special touch to Provence and we’ll explore the wonderful outdoors from limestone cliffs and wooded roads to the vineyards that line the countryside.

Of course there are still all those wonderful towns and small villages that date from Roman times. This adventure will be one to remember. Of course let's not forget the cuisine, because . . . HWBT won't. Part of the delight of each year’s journey is to be able to indulge in the great gastronomic flavors that a region offers.  And, Provence offers a lot.   All of  it is fresh, flavorful, and delicious.

Among the climate, the scenery, the food, the wine and the variety of cycling,  this area offers everything you would want for a bike tour.  You will come to understand why everyone in Provence goes al fresco

Sure, it is true that Provence has become well-known to today's traveler. But most of the area's beauty is missed by those who travel by means other than bike.  The Provence region is more than visual candy seen from a car or bus window - it beckons to all the senses.  The small farm lanes and country roads that we will cycle open up to the unique light and the brilliant skies of Provence.

The aromas of the countryside will surround you, while the sounds of the outdoors will make you realize that it is time to stop and "smell the vineyards".  And cycling will allow you to embrace all of this and to feel the essence of what makes Provence a truly unique place in France… if not the world.  So, in the future, come and join us and find out why everyone is talking about Provence and get to see what they missed. because you’ll want to toast the sun with a glass of  pastis on the courtyard of  Le Café de la Provençale.

We will cycle 30-35 miles a day. The Provence area is comprised of valley floors, foothills and mountainous areas, providing a variety of terrain for our activities.  All cycling levels are welcome.  However, to really enjoy the area and all that it has to offer, one should be able to tackle a hill by bike or certainly enjoy the view while walking up it.  We have selected accommodations which vary from small and charming inns to distinctive and luxurious châteaux.
