New Tour

Burgundy, France  - June 21-29, 2010

Has it truly been 20 years? Yes, that’s right. And let us tell you those 20 years have sped by really fast. HWBT started out as a crazy idea over dinner with friends after we had returned from four weeks of touring France and Spain. We were trying to decide, “how can we continue to cycle in Europe and share what we experienced?” So, in 1990, with friends and family, we cobbled together a nine-day tour of the Loire Valley and Howie Wowie Bicycle Tours was born. What started out as an idea over dinner (and perhaps a little too much wine!) has grown into a boutique company that has allowed us to share our world of travel with others. HWBT has truly become one of the best experiences we’ve had with lots of fun over the last 20 years.

We’ve built our little company on one overriding philosophy – that cycling is a great way to experience a country and a special way to travel. Cycling embraces a simplicity towards discovery and provides a way to connect with the world that is both fun and soulful.  It’s the difference between looking at the world and being an active part of everything around you. Our intent is to always find the least traveled routes that unfold the region’s uniqueness, its special cuisine, distinctive accommodations and of course, its people.  But, the best part of our 20-year history is truly the wonderful people that have joined us and made each tour memorable. You, the HWBT alumni, have made our creation such a great success, a wonderful job, and a special vocation. We send out a hardy THANKS to each and every one of you!

Now, for our 20th anniversary we wanted a new fun-filled adventured that still includes our personal touch.  Exploring the Burgundy region was our first choice.  With its world class wines, fantastic cycling routes, medieval historic sites, incredible gastronomic cuisine, peaceful villages with multi-hued tile roofs, and of course our exquisite accommodations, the “Best of Burgundy” is ready to roll.

So, come and join us through the Bourgogne region of France and let’s begin the next 20 years of fun, adventures and memories! Merci, merci beaucoup!

Jeff and Francine and, of course, Wil, too!
