Howie Wowie A little background about Jeff and Francine Howard |
Welcome to HWBT! 2006 will find us celebrating our 16th year of bicycle touring to different parts of the world. We continue to offer fun, adventurous, and affordable tours for small groups to unique and interesting places where we've always enjoyed cycling. And, if you ever thought about joining us, this is the year to do so. For next year, 2006, we travel to the Lot Valley in France.
The remarkable aspect about cycling in a foreign country is that the local people realize that you are not just a tourist, but someone different, someone who is taking the time to really experience and enjoy their country and will appreciate their culture and way of life.
The folks who have joined us over the years (HWBT Alumni) will tell you that touring by bike is a very unique and special way to learn about a country. These same people will also tell you that the key to our success has been the ability to share the heart, soul, and culture a particular region has to offer.
Those elements include detailed research to find exceptional, and sometimes historic, accommodations. For example, in the Loire Valley, France, we stay at the quaint inn of Le Moulin Fleuri which is a converted mill house run by a husband and wife team - Monsieur and Madame Chaplin. She runs the hotel and he's the best chef we've found in France! Check out some photos from our HWBT Scrapbook!
Touring with HWBT always includes wine tasting with local vintners and evening repasts are carefully chosen by Francine. Our informal daily "pique-niques" are optional but are always complete with a wide variety of local produce with French specialties. All these, combined with cycling, provide lasting memories of your European adventure.
We bicycle on roads less traveled
that Jeff has searched, mapped out, and (and also marked)
for carefree pedaling. All this planning by Francine and Jeff
allows you an opportunity to discover and enjoy the full flavor
of the places we visit. And, what better way to spend the day
than bicycling through the quiet countryside knowing that when
you arrive at your destination all the details have been taken
care of!
Unlike many other bicycle touring companies, we personally accompany each of our tours as guides and interpreters, and sometimes cheerleaders, to assure that your tour is a memorable one.

Howard (Howie & Wowie... the Howies). Owners, tour guides, entertainers.
Many tour companies use contractors as tour guides.... You can be sure that at least one of the Howies will be with you on the tour, making sure everything goes well. We are experienced bicyclists and world travelers. We know the area, the language, and the people.... and we know how to have a great time!

| On rainy days, Jeff might do his "Singin' in the Rain"
act.
We extend the invitation to join us in 2006 and discover for yourself what an adventure bicycle touring can be and become an HWBT alumnus. |
